Re: fattest tire on a stock 2000 Z28 wheel?
Problem is no one make a "high performance" street tire in anything larger than 255/50-16. There is a 275/45-16 "Sport Car DOT Radial" available from Hoosier, but its a shallow, soft tread for road racing and not really good for street use. Hoosier does recommend a rim width of 8.0" - 10.5" for that tire.
Every once in a while, people seem to find a 275/50 or something like that in the older BFG "Radial T/A" line, but I think those are "all season" tires. That is also a 27" tire, so it wouldn't be a good tire to use on a 4th Gen.
