We have a 2001 Z28 Camaro and just bought a set of Z06 rims the back are 18x10.5 and the front 17x9.5 what size tires should we get? Thank you!

 

That's one of the few topics we do have covered in the FAQ stickied at the top of the page. You would be looking at a 275/40-17 for the front and for the back: 285/35-18, 295/35-18 or a 315/30-18, depending on how wide a tire you want and how much of a chance you want to take with them rubbing. The FAQ shows you the diameter of each tire, and what size wheel width the manufacturers recommend for that tire.

 

What I don't like about the FAQ sticky is, I took the time to read it and I still not sure of what really works as a combo.

I did look at your home page, Fred. I founf that you are running 17-9.5 56mm and 17-11 50mm. Which was great. That is the combo I'm looking for but, I don't know what it takes to fix that monster inside the wheel well!! I know you need to trim the bump stop and maybe roll the fender lip. I'm not sureif I need a spacer.

It would be nice if the stick would state a few combos that must of us are running and what it took to stuff it in there!

 

just curious, did you get the z06's on your car yet? i am looking to buy a set
from a friend of a friend but have never seen them on a black z28. do you have any pics? thanks!

 

NO NOT yet a few things came up that has kept me from geting tires. Although I did put one wheel on and it looked very nice I didnt want to take it off! Go for it!!
