What size tires for 18x10.5???

I finally got my 18x10.5's to fit in the rear but now I really see that my 275/35/18 tires arent wide enough for the rims and arent as tall as my 245/40/18s for the front. So.....what width should I have for 18x10.5's I was thinking either 285 or 295 width and a 45 height but I dont really know. Which size would look best and fit them right?

The traditional size for an 18x10.5 wheel would be a 295/35-18, 305/35-18 or a 315/30-18.

Re: What size tires for 18x10.5???

A 285/45-18 would be nearly 2.5" larger in diameter than the stock tire, at 28.0" would barely fit in the rear wheel opening. A 295/45-18 nearly 3" larger than stock at 28.5".

Technically, a 275/35-18 will fit on a 10.5" wheel, according to the recommendations of most manufacturers. May look a bit "stretched", but its acceptable. The larger widths are a better match.

I talked to the guy at the tire shop I dont really trust him because he messed up last time but he said that if I got some 295/35/18s for the rear that they would be about 1/2 inch taller than my 245/40/18s I have in the front. Does that sound about right?

The simple answer is "yes".... it will be either 0.4" or 0.5" depending on the brand of the tires. The answer is actually in the FAQ stickied at the top of the page, in the post "what size tires fit what size wheels?"

Just out of curiosity, did you look at the FAQ before you posted your question? Not busting your 'nads here, just trying to figure out why no one reads it. Brent and I've spent a lot of time trying to respond to the frequent requests for an FAQ, and it seems like we wasted out time.
