Question What is a good size of tires for camaro z28?

I have a chevy camaro z28 (v8 5.7L.) What size of tires is the best to have? I want front tires to be 245 and the back tires to be 295... 305... Is it OK to have this big of tires on the rear if I have 18 inch hubs? Maybe I can have bigger hubs than 18 inches? Does anyone have any experience with this? If yes, please reply to this thread or send me an e-mail. What type of tires are best? Can any one tell me anything about Toyo tires? If they are a good tire, what type are best for racing? Is there a brand of tires better than Toyo?

I need any advice anyone can offer!

Thanks )))

Re: What is a good size of tires for camaro z28?

You might want to try scanning through the posts on the forum. There are people who have run 315's on the front and 345's on the back. But that may entail some issues that require a bit of hammering, spacers, etc. As far as wheels, there are people running 15" drag wheels through 20" wheels on 4th Gens.

So there is very little limit to what can be used in terms of wheel diameter or tire width. You need to be very specific in terms of how you plan to use the car.... 20's are for looks, for example, but aren't going to be good for track use. You need to figure out how far you are willing to go to "make them fit".

The popular "limits" for a straight "bolt-on" approach is a 9.5" wide wheel in the front with a 275 tire, and a 10.5 or 11" wide wheel in the back with a 295 to 315 tire.

You also need to tell us specifically what year 5.7.L Z28 you have .... a 3rd Gen (up to 92), and a 4th Gen (93 and newer) have significantly different options in terms of backspace, for example.
