Re: weld prostar size question

Not sure what size you are looking to run on the front, but 15x5 is the smallest I would go with on a street car. You will need 5/16" spacers for the front and it would be a good idea to get longer wheel studs all around. I have always run a 15x10 with 7.5" backspacing in the back and they look great. You will have to grind the rear calipers a little to clear the wheels, and you might even have to grind the fronts since you have the LS1 brakes. Not everyone has to grind the fronts though so you'll just have to see once you get them on there.

15x8 requires a 4.5 or 5.5 backspacking, I can't remember which it is.

I have the draglites with LS1 front breaks. You'll need 5/16" spacer and some grinding on the calipar, I've used the 15*3.5" with 1.75" backspace for the fronts. For the rears I've used 15*10 with 7.5" BS, for 8" rears 5.5" is good. It doesn't matter what backspace you choose, you'll need to grind the rear calipars.
It's not a big deal to grind the calipers, I've used a wood hand file and smoothed it with a metal file.

Re: weld prostar size question

PLEASE post in the correct forum. "wheels" questions don't beong in "LT1/LT4 Engine Tech". There's a "Wheels and Tires" forum, and at the top of the page there's an FAQ with the answers to some parts of your question.

Moving......
