weld draglites on a 3rd gen?

I can't find any threads on here about a 3rd gen. What backspacing for weld draglites and what size tire should I put on the back of my 84 z28? I have two 15x10 with 7.5 bs that I bought for a 96 project that got put aside for now, but I want to get a set for the rear of my 84.

The 3rd Gen rear axle assembly is 3" narrower than the 4th Gen. You would need a backspace in the range of 5.5-6.0" for a 3rd Gen with a 10" wide wheel.

15 x 10 with 5.5 inch backspace.

You also need to modify the calipers by beveling the fins on the outer edge to keep them from hitting the wheels. In some cases (such as mine), you may also need to add a 4mm wheel spacer.

Sweet *** ride, what size back tire you go with? Mine has the same paint scheme as well.

Those are 275-60-15's, which are a 28 inch tall tire. It's probably going to require the rolling of the fenderwell lip to keep from contacting these things on launch. Thus I'd rather have the 26 inch tall tire though and I'd probably recommend a 26 incher with that 3000 stall. I only have 28's because I found them barely used for a really good price. I've got 3.73 gears in my Moser 12-bolt, and unless I punch out with something greater than a 150-shot of nitrous, I probably wouldn't run out of fourth gear even with a 26-incher. What's third gear in a TH350? Is it a 1:1 final drive ratio?

Thanks for the compliments too, BTW. I really like midnight sand-grey metallic: It looks cool and is definitely stealthy on the road! Post pictures when you get the wheels on, eh?

I wanted to go with a 28 inch tall tire but I'm not sure yet. My z28 is the factory black with grey on the bottom, I'm gonna have it painted back factory black and grey with a 3" cowl. I'm having a little forged 383 built and I might spray a little in the long run.

A 15x10 5.5" Weld on a 3rd Gen is going to look the same as a 15x10 7.5" Weld on a 4th Gen.

I don't have any rear shots of those tires, Sorry.
To tell the truth, I didnt get too many days of racing in for '07.

Injuneer's picture is right though, my car looks pretty much like his from the rear when the tires are on the car.

There were 3rd Gens with 4-wheel discs. If he had 15x10 5.5" BS wheels on a 4th Gen rear axle, they would be sticking out about 1.5" beyond the fenders.
