weight difference

I am curious of how much of a difference of acceleration and 1/4mile times will heavier rims and tires have my stock rims and tires are 45 pounds and my new rims and tires are 53lbs per wheel. Is that enough weight to have a drastic effect. I am also curious if I should put 245's on the front and 275's on the rear. Or is that a bad idea because of being able to rotate my tires when needed?

Re: weight difference

Thats 32lbs total. Its unsprung weight also.

You'll never really know until you run it. Anything else is pure speculation due to too many variables.

Re: weight difference

Unsprung weight is a term used to describe that part of a vehicle's mass that is directly connected to the wheels, and not isolated through the suspension. Unsprung weights typically consists of the weight of the wheels, tires, brakes (if within the wheels), spindles, bearings, and a portion of weight of the half-shafts, springs, and suspension links.

Search engines are great.

Some say it doesn't matter but some do.
