Tires for 17x9 rim?

Im currently running 275/40/17's on my SS wheels (17x9). I just bought new drag radials for the rear and the fronts are so-so. My buddy has a set of 245/45/17's that are almost brand new he said he'd give me off his stang. Will they work without looking stupid? I havent even compared the two or anything just looking for some feedback. If not what the smallest sized tire i can use on these? These are gonna be front runners so im not to much worried about width. Post up some pics if ya have any. Thanks in advance.

Re: Tires for 17x9 rim?

I have 245/45-17's in the front of my car (7x9.5 ZR1's) and they do look a bit narrow when you are close to the car.

The only reason I have them is that they were on the rims when I bought them and they were almost new, so I didn't feel any need to buy new ones yet.

Pics in sig.
