Re: Tire size Q

Where are you finding that size tire? I can't find any listed on Tire Rack, etc.

A 305/40-18 is a 27.5" diameter tire.... 2 inches larger in diameter than the stock 4th Gen tires. Its going to fill up the wheel wells, give the car a definite "rake" and suck up performance like you swapped in much lowere numerical rear gears.

The only thing I see close would be a 315/30-18 BFG Drag Radial, and that requires an 11" wide rim. Nitto makes a 305/45-18 Drag Radial, but thats a 28.8" tire and wouldn't fit on your car without body work and mini-tubs. Nitto will accept putting that tire on a 9.5" wide wheel.

Re: Tire size Q

I am getting a deep dish rims with 3/12 lip on the rear and i want something thats gonna stick out. Would 295's stick out as much? As long as it doesn't rub.

Yeah.

PWR-TRIP, you need wheels with a 5 x 4.75" (5 x 120.65mm) bolt pattern.

Re: Tire size Q

You will be fine with a 5x120 pattern. I have the pattern on my car, and about every f body with an aftermarket wheel has a 5x120 pattern.

Re: Tire size Q

And I'll give you my "opinion" on fitting the incorrect bolt pattern - do not do it. Even if you don't find the lugs loosening or get vibrations from the lugs seating eccentricaly, you open yourself up to a huge liability in an accident for knowingly putting the incorrect wheels on your car.

But, its your car.... do what you want with it.

Re: Tire size Q

If you do decide to stick with the 5x120.65 pattern you are pretty much limited to the GM repro wheels (C5, Z06, ZR1, C6, etc). Unless you are willing to spend $3K on a set of custom wheels. If your on a budget, and you want to do anything unique your pretty much forced to go with a 5x120 pattern which sucks. BTW, the .65mm is about the thickness of a credit card fyi.

Re: Tire size Q

I will have to lower it for sure if i go with either 275 or 295. Few people told me NOT to go with tires over 295. But i know i can't have 295-18's with stock height.

Re: Tire size Q

I'm scared lowering it here. The roads are extremly bad with lotsa potholes everywhere. I guess when you have it prof lowered it wouldn't matter with new shocks and all.
