Tire size???

I am currently running a 285/40/R17 on the rear of my car. I am in the market for new tires and am entertaining MT ET street drag radials. Will a 295/45/R17 fit on the rear of my car? Anyone have any suguestions on a better tire. I need a tire that will hook and get me down the track without breaking the bank.

Re: Tire size???

That's a 27.6" diameter tire. Should not be a problem on a wheel with the correct offset. I've run 28.0" Hoosier QTPs with minor rubbing, but bias plies grow a lot more than radials at high speeds.
