Tire size?

I have 17x9.5 ZR1's on my 94Z hardtop. Is it possible to stuff a 315 under the back fender wells without rubbing or having clearence issues.

Re: Tire size?

At minimun you can mount a 315 on a 10 inch rim. I wouldnt try a 9.5 since the sidewalls are so thin. The tire will just roll under and wont seal the beads correctly.

Re: Tire size?

I'm running 315's but I have 11" rims. They fit my car but I'm using a 1" billet spacer and had to massage the wheelhouse for additional clearance. I did not have to roll the lip of my quarter panel. I've been running them trouble free for the last two years.

Re: Tire size?

You must have the ZR1 offest of 36mm. I have the grandsport offset of 50mm and they fit fine. A little beating of the wheel wells, and removing the bump stop but the rims fit.

Re: Tire size?

i have mounted 315s on 9.5 wheels they fit but it pulls the sidewalls in a long ways they didnt rub the wheel wells you have to find a shop that will inflate them to about 80psi to seat them it is not easy to get them on the rims a good shop can do it

Re: Tire size?

I would definetely suggest not doing it. Get a pair of 17x11's and you don't have to worry about anything.

Re: Tire size?

just use a 275, or get the right size wheel. you lose the benifits of the extra width because the sidewall will bulge so much. friend had this with his stang, said he didnt like the way it handled, so he upgraded wheel width from the stock 8 inch wheels

AFS sells 17x11 ZR1 "replicas" in 1) black powder coat, 2) silver powder coat, 3) polished aluminum, 4) polished aluminum with clear coat, or 5) chrome plated.
