tire question

trying to keep my rear tires close to the stock 26" total diameter. my factory 91 z28 wheels were a 245/50/16. when i had my 18's on my last car i had 285/35/18 on a 10" and this worked great. i'm trying to put 19's on my convertible project and i can't find a tire. i'm looking for a 285/30/19 or at most a 295/30/19 with no luck. i was looking into the bfg kdw nt as my first choice but i can't find it on their website. same with the michelin pilots as well as nitto.

anyone know of a good tire in a 285/30/19 or 295/30/19??

Re: tire question

jeff,
Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 has both 285 and 295 30 19's
I had the discontinued Michelin Pilot Sports (which now are replaced by the Michelin Pilot Sport PS2's) in a 275/30ZR19 on my 19x10 CCW's and the were some of the best tires i have ever owned....and they rode like 275/40 17's

Re: tire question

hmm. i looked and couldn't find them on the site, i was originally looking at the bfgs mainly because i liked the wild looking tread pattern of the nt-new tread version but bfg doesn't have that size on their site either.

do you have any close ups of the rears with a 275/30/19? according to this calculator here:

http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html

the 285/30/19 is closest to my factory 245/50/16 height. i had 285/35/18 on the last 18" set and was happy so i've been trying to keep it close but both companies for sure make 275/30/19's so i'm not sure what to do??

the ps2's are only $180 more a set then the bfg's and i'd really like to get the best tire i can for these wheels reguardless of what the tread pattern looks like.
