8.5"x17", front; 9.5"x18 back= MY CURRENT WHEELS

TIRE SIZE= 245/45/17 (front) 275/40/18 (rear)

now i know the rears are going to fit, same size rim, but...are the 245's on the 8.5x17 fronts going to fit on the 9.5x18 NEW front rims? or is it going to be a bad fit


17x9.5 front; 18x9.5 back= the wheels im thinking of buying

 

A 17" tire will not fit on an 18" wheel. But it appears you mis-typed what you meant.

Most tire manufacturers recommend a 9.0" maximum wheel width for a 245/45-17. It will fit on the 9.5" wide (17") wheels without any serious problems, since its only 1/2" wider than they recommend. But it may look a bit "stretched" on such a wide wheel, and the sidewall of the tire isn't going to offer any protection from curbs. I personally wouldn't do it.

The 275/40-18 in the back is 1" larger than the stock diameter. A 275/35-18 or a 285/35-18 would be a better choice.

 

yes, i meant the 17 x 9.5 with the 245/45/17, so this will fit, and look right with no problem?

 

You'll have to determine if it looks right.... I think it will look "stretched" and leave the rim subject ot curb rash.
