Stock Tire Question

Hello, i have the stock chrome rims that come on 1997 camaro z28's. I was wondering what my tire options were. Does it have to be 245/50/16? Or could i go with a lower profile like maybe 40 instead of 50? Or can i go wider? Can anyone help me out with this?? Thanks.

Re: Stock Tire Question

Re: Stock Tire Question

I was thinking of... 245/45/16 in the fronts.. and 255/50/16 in the rears.. what does everyone think? And any good tires that can grip good out there?

Re: Stock Tire Question

The 245/45 in front is going to be 1" smaller in diameter than stock, increasing the gap to the fender by 1/2", and lowering the nose of the car 1/2". The larger than stock diameter 250/50 tires in the back will give it about a 2/3" "rake". Depends how you want it to look.

Re: Stock Tire Question

Keep the same size tire, or upgrade to a bigger rim.

Also, try putting on a set of chrome lug nut covers from SLP. I did it with my stock chrome 5 spokes, and it really dressed them up.
