Stock to aftermarket wheels

I have the horrible steel wheels with the hubs on them. The tire is a 215/60/16. I was wondering what size wheel these tires would work on. Do I have to stay with 16 or will they go to 17? Will they only transfer to 16X8? Thanks in advance.

Re: Stock to aftermarket wheels

Your 215/60-16 tires can ONLY be used on 16" diameter wheels.

How wide a wheel they will fit on depends on the manufacturer of the tire. Some manufacturers recommend no wider than a 7" wide wheel for that size tire. Other manufacturers will allow that tire on up to an 8.5" wide wheel. You need to check the manufacturer's recommendation for wheel width.

Re: Stock to aftermarket wheels

I researched a little and they only allow 6.0-7.5 wide rims. What options do I have with that? Any suggestions without having to buy new tires?
