Reccomendation: Santa Ana Plating
I recently had 2 authentic ZR1 wheels stripped and chrome plated by Santa Ana Plating in California and have to admit it was worth every penny.
Santa Ana uses a 7-layer plating process, and even has an option for a full-barrel polish so you can have shiny chrome all the way back into the car.
$100/rim + $25 barrel polish option + 7% EPA disposal tax + UPS Ground.
My two rims came out to a bit over $300. (plus the $30 or so I spent to have them shipped down to CA).
These rims are gorgeous, they did an awesome job on them... I almost wanta send my 11" rims down to get done again properly.
The GM chrome job on my stock 16" rims is great... 100,000 miles and 5 years of driving without problems, although like 99% of the chrome wheels out there, the barrel isn't finished at all.
The aftermarket chrome job done to my ZR1 rims as a dealer option is also very nice, but comparing the standard chrome job side by side with the full-barrel one I have to admit it does make a difference.
If anyone's looking to chrome their silver wheels (or to get a set of Firehawk rims done properly), I gotta give full reccomendations on this company: www.chroming.com (aka www.SantaAnaPlating.com)

I think I saw that shop on tv last night. It was FunkMasterFlex's show where they turn people's cars out and he had a '6? Impala built up for 50 Cent. They sent parts like the wheel wells to that shop and the owner was breaking down the process that they use. Pretty interesting. Just thought I'd throw that in
