rear end

I recently put on some 18x10.5 ZO6 wheels on the rear of my 98 Z28. They look great but the driver side wheel is about 1/8 of an inch from the edge of the fender which is the look i am looking for but the passenger side wheel is about 5/8 inch from the edge of the fender so i know the rearend needs to be centered. So i am thinking instead of centering the rearend i would put a 5/8 inch spacer on the passenger side to achieve the look i wanted but i dont know if this would be safe or a good idea? I dont drive the car aggressively only full throttle strait line acceleration every now and then but take it pretty easy most of the time. If anyone knows please respond.

Re: rear end

is your car lowered? you might need a adjustable panhard rod.

Re: rear end

Do not use a spacer. Correct the body-to-axle alignment with the adjustable panhard rod. Has the back end ever been hit? Have you ever hit a curb real hard with one back wheel?

Re: rear end

I just bought the car back in March and i really doubt that it has ever hit a curb hard or anything. The way i figure it needs to be shifted to the passenger side about 1/4 inch and then there would be equal spacing of 3/8 of an inch from edge of fender to the edge of the wheels on both sides or in other words tucked under the fenders by about 3/8 of an inch. I have read how some cars need the adjustable panhard rod to be centered, is it being off centered by 1/4 inch abnormal?
