Question On Wheel Tire Size And Combo

OK I have a 98 Camaro Z-28 with the stock chrome 5 spokes I`m not sure exact width of rim but I`d guess they`re 8" with 245/50-16 Goodyears. I`m looking to go a little taller 17" a little wider but how wide is too wide? I`ve been looking at some 17"x9.5" front and 17"x11" rear or 17"x9.5" all the way around. I like the look of the wider tires on the rear but will the 11" fit in and under the wheelwell w/o causing trouble? Is 9.5" too wide on the front steering? Keeping in mind that I`d like to keep the height of the tires front and rear the same what size tire best fits either application? Appreciate replies. Dave.

Re: Question On Wheel Tire Size And Combo

with that 17 inch setup, 275/40/17 is the perfect tire, whether its all around or just the fronts. some people do have a rubbing problems with the 11inch wide wheel, but there are tons of topics on how to make room
