Anyone have some pics of their 315s on 9.5 inch rims. I was just wanting to see some pics of them mounted up on a camaro. Thanks ahead.

 

i don't have pics, but a guy i know run's 315's on his 17x9.5 roh zs's. he first has nitto dr's and they had a ittle bulge, but not too bad. certainly doable. he then replaced them with 315 BFG DR's and they look considerably bigger as far as the bulge. I'll see if i can steal some pics from his car. but it all depends on who makes the tire i guess. i know my nitto 275/40 dr's don't look as big as some other street tire 275's.

 

Here are some on my 1996 Z28. They are 17x9.5 Enkei Win's all around with Sumitomo HTRZ 275/40/17 in front and 315/35/17 in back. Enjoy!

No Problem. If you need better ones, I can get you some close ups if you are worried about "the bulge."

 

I would be intersted in seeing just how bad the tires bulge around the sidewall on those wheels.

But the pics you have there, they look pretty good!

315's should not go on a 9 or 9.5" rim. Look at the last pic. The dirt on his tires show that the contact patch isn't completely using all the tread.

As for the BFG looking wider, they are. the 275 is a mm measurement of the section width, not the tread. The BFG has a wider tread section and is almost flush with the sidewall bulge.

 

As I have posted numerous times before. I don't care about the contact patch. This is a sunny day car that sees about 300 miles a year. The 315's were put on for looks and nothing more. If I was going to be going out and doing a road coarse or something, I would have been using an 11" rim or gone with a 275 series tire. People make it sound as if your are going to have a catastrophic tire failure or something and it's just not the case. Again, I have asked all of the bashers for specific proven examples of tire failures caused by 315's on a 9.5" rim and so far, I havn't got any yet!

 

Oh, and in that last picture, the tire patch is wider than that, after I drive my car, I pull it in and I use Armor All tire wipes on the tires and I run them all the way up the edge of the tire.

 

I agree. If you dont wanna use these tires on 9.5 rims then dont. As for us that do leave us alone. They look awesome, wear good, and we like them on OUR cars.

 

thats a big tire...any idea if they will fit under a 3rd gen on 9.5" rims?I'm running the WS6/ZR1/SS 17x9.5" wheels on my car with the 2" adapter and the 275/40s fit like a glove but they are pretty worn out now and i need to get new tires at some point this season.

 

i dont see how you can think a 315 even looks good. i personally think these cars look like *** from behind with them on
