OEM C6 Vette wheels on LT-1 F-body?

I'm looking to get a set of factory C6 corvette wheels for my '96 Camaro SS. The wheels are 18" 255/35 in front, and 19" 295/35 in the back. I took my wheels off and tried the vette wheels on, and the front one fit (though they were snug around the center hub), but the back wheels hit the axle bump stop and the control arm. I thought of spacing the wheels out, but the lug studs would be too short. I've seen spacers with studs built in that that bolt between the hub and wheel. My question is, are these spacers any good? Can they hold up to street/track driving conditions? Does anyone know what size spacer I would need? If anyone has attempted this before, any insight would be greatly appreciated.

We have a "Wheels and Tires" forum. That is where this belongs, so I will move it there. There is an FAQ on wheels in general, and a detailed writeup on putting C6 OEM wheels on a 4th Gen. Those threads are "stickied" at the top of the Wheels and Tires forum topic list. The FAQ cover the problems of the wheels not fitting over the rear hubs.
