No fish tail???????
No fish tail???????
I am running old Nitto 315/35/17 and when I am going around corners and try to fish tail it doesn't?. Im not sure if its just sticky tires or maybe my posi? I upgraded my posi about 1 1/2 years ago along with 4.10 gears. Also I have the 11in wide ZR1's. Any help will be appreciated, thanx!!!
Re: No fish tail???????
Not fishtailing is a good thing. It means the tires and suspension are doing what they were designed to do.
Trust me though, it has nothing to do with your posi. Actually, having one will make you kick out worse than a single trac.

Re: No fish tail???????
that's right. You ever make a turn in a vehicle without posi and one of the wheels goes in a puddle? You just about stop on the road. regular differentials just give power to the weakest resistance point, i.e. whichever wheel has the least traction.
It's all your tires there, and that's a very good thing to have.

I guess the stickyness is nice but when I am trying to show off for a crowd it doesn't get squirrly? O well I would rather have sticky then spinning! Even on an old set of Nitto DR's I still launch good on the street! I need to take it as a blessing!! Thanx!

Fish tailing is a great way to show off how your car can wrap around a telephone pole. I'm not one to be impressed with demostrations of a car's lack of traction. I grew up street racing. There were always idiots that thought being able to do big burn outs meant your car was bad a$$. Even if they were much more modded than me, I'd run them and hand them their a$$ and they couldn't figure out why. I ran Mickey Indy SS's out back, dropped the pressure, and heated them up before racing. I'd hook and move while they would sit and spin.
