Which nitto for front?

This car will be driven on the road fairly often. I am looking for a tire that will handle good on dry and wet roads. Thanks.

for just a frontrunner, go with yokohama avs es100s. they are a nice performance tire at a real bargain IMO. if you want something quieter and more comfortable, a BFG KDWS would be real good. how much you want to spend and how important is cornering/handling capabilities to you?

I would reccomend Nitto 555R's. I have had them when I was running 17X9.5 up front, and now as well with 18X9 up front. The handle excellent in both dry and wet applications, and they have an extremly high tread life.

555R is a drag radial and the 555R2 is a road race tire. 555 is Nittos best street tire.

You are correct. I meant to say 555's. I have the 555Rs in the rear.

For front tires, I think something like a Michelin Pilot PS2, Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3, or BFGoodrich KDW would be better than anything from Nitto, especially if you're driving the car in the rain.

Yeah, but he asked what "Nitto" would be best up front. I have tried, and driven many different tires in different conditions, and personally I love my Nitto's. The 555's do excellent in the rain and last a long time, and would be perfect IMO. I have the 555R's in the back and I think for a DR, they are probably the best overall to handle in the rain. All Goodyears (IMO) are overpriced, and they never seem to last (at least how I drive on them). The BFG's are a little better priced, but still don't seem to hold up. The Nittos are the cheepest, and they perform the best, all while lasting a LONG time.

Have you tried the ones I suggested? I'm thinking the ideal setup might consist of a set of PS2's up front and 555R's in back.

I have not driven the PS2's, however I have driven on both the Goodyear F1 GS-D3's, and the KDW's. I have just never really liked any of Goodyears tires just for the reasons I mentioned earlier about being over priced and never holding up. I will say that the KDW's hook up awesome, but they are more expensive than the Nitto's, and wear down MUCH faster.

i have nitto NT450's in back. They hook decent, plus last quite a while. They would be awesome up front.

I don't know how they would rate Nitto's that far down on the list. I have had experience with tires up higher on the list getting WAY less mileage and horrible wear compared to the Nitto's.

I had Nitto NT555 all the way around before I switched to 11's in the rear. The Nitto's I have on the front are still the same ones I put on the car when I got it (96,000) miles. I now have 108,000 and they still look very good and have PLENTY of tread left on them. I don't drive my car in the rain but the one time I was rained on I got stuck coming back from KC and it was pretty much raining cats and dogs. The tires held up fine and I still had very good traction.

I would definetly go with the NT555 on the front.
