Need some opinions..

So I picked up a great looking set of C5 wheels for pretty cheap this weekend. Now I am trying to put tires on them so I can slap them on the car. The rims are 17x8.5 fronts & 18x9.5 rears. My questions is, should I go with the stock size wheels (245/45/17 & 275/40/18) or should I go a little more extreme. I was thinking of going with the stock sized fronts & 285/35/18's on the rear...any opinions on how that would look once on the car? Is there a better size for the front that might match-up with the 285/35 rears? I have read & re-read the FAQ's but still cannot make up my mind. Any help would be appreciated!! BTW, my car is a cruiser. No racing, no canyon-carving or hard driving.

Here is a picture of my wheels....

The wheels look a lot better than they do in that picture, btw.

Re: Need some opinions..

You need to match the outside diameter of the tires that came on your car from the factory, as closely as possible. I think the Y87 package came with 16x8.0" wheels and 235/55-16 tires (26.1" diameter).

So you should consider 255/45-17 for the front, and 285/35-18 in the back (26.0" of 26.1" depending on manufacturer). The 275/40-18 is 26.7" and that's going to throw the speedo off, and be a lot larger diameter than the front tires.

I went with the Sumitomo's. I know they aren't the best, but why buy a super expensive pair of running shoes when all you will be doing is walking fast?
