Moving to 17's?

Moving to 17's?
Ive got a '01 z28 with 16's, Eagle RS-A P245/50ZR16
These tires suck, and I am looking at either BFGoodwrench g-forces, or Another set of goodyears year round but not another set of RS-A's.
If I went up to 17's, Id have to get new rims, along with new tires...
If I just stayed 16's Id just have to get my new tires.
Any suggestions?

As far as money wise, I am just going to stay at 16's...So I dont have to pay more money for 17's rims.
I will look into the brands of tires you guys suggested....But I need to keep in mind that I need tires that are year round tires, as I live in IL, and one day it'll be sunny and cool out, then the next day its humid as S. florida, and we got tornado warnings left and right...

Re: Moving to 17's?
Interesting.... everyone has recommendations, but no one asked how you plan to use your car - what is most important? Street - corner carving or straight line; street & strip; is your car lowered; what king of HP levels; wet weather driving a consideration; all show, no go; all go, no show; etc.
Really hard to make a meaningful recommendation without knowing how you use your car. Although "get 18's" seems to be the routine answer from some people to everyone's questions about wheels and tires, there are alternatives to that approach that can provide better results, depending on the way you plan to drive your car.

Well Im guessing you just want some grippier tires which either means better tires or wider and better tires. Since Ive read that 255s are the widest you should put on the stock wheels, maybe you should save up for some wider after market ones. They would be able to accomodate wider tires, plus you could stay at 16" wheel dia. too, to save money on tires.

lol, no when I say tornados, they're is always a mixture of a downpour and hail..not to mention you should just be in the basement anyways lol....Just sayin how our weather is like.
I use my car just to cruise around for fun, and go to school, but I drive aggressively, fast corners, start out fast, yeah I do just need better grippers...I dont do show, races, or anything like that...we dont have anything like that around here in IL, that I have heard of...or maybe just illegal racing, but i still dont.
