Mixing Tire Brands Front and Back
Mixing Tire Brands Front and Back
I currently have BFG KDWS on all 4 corners, but my front two are bald and need to be replaced, but the rears have a good amount of life on them.
I want to try some new tires, so thinking about replacing the FRONTS ONLY with another brand...still choosing. Then when the rears are ready, I'll get the same to match.
Is there any issues with running different brand tires in the front compared to the rears? All the tires will still be directional and either max performance for UHP..just wondering if different thread designs front and back screw anything up on how the overall car handles.
And in case you're thinking this, no I don't want to do burnouts all weekend to get the rears bald too, and replace all four.

I've done it before with no ill effects! You'll have to re-adjust to the different characteristics of the new tires/brand/model. Otherwise you'll be fine!
I'm running the Falken fk 452 tires in 275/35/18s in front, and 275/40/18s in the rear for a little over a 1 year and I'm happy with them!
