Milage from M/T Drag Radials

Im thinking about buying these for my daily driver (i hate loosing a redlight race and i like waisting $ what can i say) Im wondering who has been driving on these tires and how they are holding up. WHatkinda mileage have ytou seen and hows the wear so far. Anyone burn up a whole set yet. You do lotsa burnouts and race alot? Im trying to get an idea of what kinda mileage people are really getting from these. Ive even heard they may get better mileage then the BFG's!

Hmmmm...I predict you will be buying tires often if you get M/T DRs for a daily. I have a set but only put them on to go to, race at, and drive home from the track...and I'll just say I don't see them lasting long especially if you also frequent the track. They are a very soft tire and wear quickly

If you are looking to get 6000 miles go with the BFGs....That's all I run and I get 4000-5000 miles out of them. From what I've seen/heard you'll be lucky to get 2000 out of the M/Ts...

Better milage than what BFG's? The rule is: softer compound = shorter tread life.

How much driving do you do in this vehicle? Because driving in the rain is gonna suck.

I've seen cars running BFG KD and GY GSD3's hook really well. All you have to do is heat them just like you'll have to do w/a drag radial. A really soft DR will pick up a lot of gravel and grit that you'll need to clean off prior to racing.

Ive got a buddy with a 00 GT stang with full boltons and gears and i belive a converter but he wont admit that one. That daily drives his and has about 2-3000 miles on it and he said he is showing almost no wear. He races but doenst need a burnout to hook em usually and only has 3-4 light burbnouts on em. From what im hearing burnouts are what really kill em. Regular driving isnt supposed to be that bad on em. About the rain, they cant be any worse then my almost bald GSCs. I go slow in the rain anyway. Dont see any need to drive fast in the rain.

When my BFG DRs are new they are great in most rainy conditions. They come with 4-5/32" tread and do ok until they are around 2/32", then they turn on you in a hurry. I drove from Florida to PA on a new set, hitting all kinds of rain showers and they were good. You just have top watch them closely. I only drive my car about 4-5000 miles a year so I just leave them on, I'm not sure I'd use them everyday though.

I need a good, light burn out to get them to hook at around 17-19 psi (275 40 R17s). Of the 3 top DRs the BFGs fall right in the middle for traction/treadwear. Nittos last longer, but don't hook as well, the M/T ET Radials are awesome at the track, but don't last and are not meant to drive on daily. they were designed soley for the radial tire class not for a lot of street use.

You have to burn out to get heat in them. Then they will stick.
