I have found a set locally for 1295. Do yall think that this is a good deal? They are 18 and 17's.

You might want to try a "search" on the "Appearance" forum... I remember the magnesium wheels being discussed there about 6 months ago. The magnesium wheels cost something like $3,000 EXTRA as an option (although they were standard on the "export" models).

Thats to bad about the magnesium wheels, cause I found a set of fiske fm5's at the same place with NEW goodyear eagle f1-ds tires in 18x9.5 and 17x9.5 for ohhh....2000 out the door.

Re: Magnesium c5 wheels?

I could have swore there were problems with the magnesium wheels and they stopped production on them.... what was it... <rakes brain>

Personally I think that's a pretty good deal on a set of C5 rims if they're in "like new" condition (no road rash). Not sure how they line up against the Z06 rims for weight... but I personally think they look better.

GM PART # 12497218
GM LIST: $1,650.83
OUR PRICE: $1,155.58 (GM Parts Direct... Jason Cromer or Dal could probably match or beat this)
DESCRIPTION: WHEEL KIT Magnesium (Painted Bronze)
Includes 2 wheels, 2 covers, 10 nuts, and 10 nut caps.

Yep... used in 1998 and 1999 C5's. Now only available as 17x8.5" rims I believe. 12497217 is the front, 12497218 is the 17" rear. Some additional info from GM Goodwrench: http://www.gmgoodwrench.com/gmgoodwr...on=pp#12497218

Looks like it was RPO "N73", and yes... a $3000 option.

Here's a place selling 17x8.5 and 18x9.5 sets for $2250. http://www.wheelcollision.com/8a.html
