Life expectacy of drag slicks

I have some ET Streets. I have only used them once and they are about 2 1/2 years old. They have been stored in the roof of my garage that is cool and dry.

I haven't even looked at them for 18 months, due to car being in pieces and a friend of mine has suggested that they will be of no use. That they dry out and basically would be potentially dangerous.

I know that slicks can dry out but I always assumed that was under many years of use.

Can anyone give me some informed feedback on what the life expectancy of these tires are?

2 1/2 years? A nice smoky burnout should bring em back to life.
