Kumho Ecsta ASX review

I finally decided to get an extra set of tires and save my Nitto's for the track. I really had my mind set on some high end tires, but I decided to save some serious coin and try the Kumho Ecsta ASX 275/40/17's. They were about $138 per tire. At first I figured they'd be sub-par quality tires.

Living in Wyoming I experience some of the worst/weirdest weather probably in the whole country. Just a week ago it snowed 6 in and was 32 degrees.
And ever since then it has been raining everyday. These tires have worked out extremely well, and are outstanding in wet/snowy conditions. I've got these tires to hook pretty good in warm conditions too which was another surprise. I've had Kumho's in the past and they flat out sucked, but these are definetely worth the money.

A+ for Kumho. I'll get some pics of my car on here tomorrow, to dark right now.

I have them on my Z-28 as well. They're grippy enough for fun driving on the street, and they're capable in the rain as well. They're a huge improvement over the junk Hankook K-104 tires that were on it before. I imagine there are better tires out there, but they probably cost a good bit more money.

I've bought several sets of Kumhos over the years for several vehicles, and I've always been happy with them.

Do they seem to track at all? I hate the BFG's I have, they follow every rut in the road.

No, They don't track at all for me, and surprisingly quiet. They're definetely worth the $.
I'd recommend these to anyone looking for a solid All-Season tire.

My Hankooks did, but I haven't noticed it too badly with these Kumhos. Of course, maybe I've just gotten used to it. Also, that seems to be more dependent on the size of your front tires versus what brand you have. When I went from 245's all around to 275's all around, it all of a sudden picked up every rut and groove there was.

I've been using the ASTs for quite a while now....other than having upwards of 3 flats a year they are dependable in wet and even snowy weather.

Ive owned several sets of these tires. One on my z28 and went threw two sets on my Ford Ranger with 17x8 stang wheels - which I drive all year long. The tires traction is good for the price. I would definately never consider going cheaper then these tires on my z28. They have much better traction the KDW's and GTII'2 i've ran. For a performance all season tire they do just fine in the snow. I've went threw 3 minnesota winters on these tires and have rarely had a problem.
