Im looking at some 17x8 rims with a 4.5 backspace. will that make the rim stick out farther or more of a deep dish style? thanks

I believe you'll need 17 x 8 wheels with a 5.25" to 5.5" backspacing. With a 4.5" backspacing the wheels will stick out to far.

An 8.0" wide wheel with a 4.5" backspace is probably a "0" offset wheel. You need at least a 15mm to keep the wheel just barely under the fender. The stock 8.0" wide wheel has a 55mm offset. Think what that wheel would look like if you moved it 2" toward the outside of the fender.... that's where the 0 offset wheels will sit.
