There's really not much available in high performance tires for the stock 16x8" wheels. Did your car leave the factory with the "base" V8 model tires (235/55-16, 26.1") or the optional Z-rated tires (245/50-16, 25.7")? That will determine the size required to avoid reprogramming the PCM for the relatively minor speedo error from not matching the stock diameter. There should be a label on your driver's side door or on the dor jamb showing the stock tire size.
You only real choices in a 16" tire would be a 245/50-16 or a 255/50-16 (26.0").
The stickiest tires would be drag radials from BFG, M/T or Nitto. But they aren't very good in the rain. The Nitto's are probably the best for street use, but still not as sticky in the rain as a non-drag radial.
Go to Tire Rack, and put in the tire size. It will give you all the choices they offer (they do not sell Nitto, and there aren't many manufacturers at all making the 255/50-16 size any more). For a tire that interests you, click on the "Survey" link. When that page appears, look for the link to "See a full list of survey results for high performance (or whatever) tires". That will give you relative ratings for things like dry traction, wet traction, cornering braking, noise, fuel economy, snow performance, etc.
