how to measure a wheel?

how to measure a wheel?

i bought a used wheel and want to find all the specs on it I know it is 15 inch on the width do you measure form the widest points or on the inside of the lip? how do you find the back spacing.

The width is measured inside the side flanges, exactly where the tire beads will sit.

Backspace is measured by laying a straightedge across the far outside back edge of the wheel, and meauring the distance from the surface that mounts to the hub to the straightedge.
