How can I remove powdercoating?

I have a set of black powdercoated 18 inch ZR1 wheels that I bought to replace my 17s. They're all black, but I want the lips to be silver like on my current wheels. I considered using sand paper, scotch-brite pads, and sand-blasting, but I'm wary of commiting to something without knowing what the outcome will be.

What can I do to take the powdercoating just off the lips?

You can either sand for an extended period of time, or have a glass-beader mask them off, and then blast. Walnut shells are also good for this, and are a cheaper spray medium than glass. Should'nt charge you for more than an hours fee either way, which is usually the min. time/price allowed for blast jobs.

Get them walnut blasted. It shouldn't cost that much. A local guy was going to charge me $300.00 to blast the entire frame, engine compartment, and powder coat the frame. So figure a set of wheels... maybe $20-50?
