Have A ?

I am thinking about having my SS rims widened to 11'. Is this a good idea? Anybody know a place I can send em' to that will widen them? How much would it cost? I know I heard of people doing it I just wanted to know a few things. Thanks

You might want to read the tech writeup on the ws6.com page... he had his 17x9 WS6 wheels widened to 17x11, by a guy in Monrovia, CA (he gives contact info in writeup). A friend of mine had his SS front wheels narrowed to get a "skinny" look by the same shop, and the workmanship was extremely good.

Problem with widening a wheel is that the extra width can only be added to the back of the wheel, leaving you with the shallow look at the front of the wheel, and an excessive backspace that will require a large spacer and possibly body modifications.

He also documents the loss of 3.5rwHP because of the added weight of the wheels and tires.
