Post Good or bad idea to runner skinnies on an everday driver?

Was thinking of buying some skinnies for the front. My everyday driver to and from work 14 miles each way, highway driven mostly. Give me some input guys on this.
Thanks,
Mike

I would say it's fine. Just be careful in the rain since these cars are hydraphobic, and dont try to corner into the wal-mart parking lot at 40mph. I have to ask why would you want skinnies though? If it's your daily driver i think the extra 20lbs or so would be worth it for the added traction. Just remove the crash bar if you are worried about weight . I figure this way. A crash bar is for when you lose control and smash into soemone. I'd rather have the extra rubber to prevent this.

Back to the main topic though, yes you should be fine as long as you dont corner too hard. I would be worried about them separating from the rim or just not gripping.

If you are driving on the highway that often and everyday, I wouldnt run the skinnies. You risk hitting a monster pothole and tacoing the rim and losing control. Skinnies arent made to drive on in everyday conditions. If you are talking about true 3.5" or 4" skinnies then I would say no. You also lose a lot of contact patch that you would need in a panic break situation. If its raining, forget about it, your not going to stop if its an emergency.

For equivalent tire pressures, the contact patch is identical. I would advise you not to run skinnies on a daily driver because the wheel is not intended for everyday street use.

I would assume if you got into an accident with skinnies on your car that a good lawyer would easily be able to prove you at fault for using inappropriate tires.

Honestly, I just love to look of them. I see cars all the time with them around here and thats what made me think of getting some. Anyone here that is running them everyday?
