Fittment of Weld Pro Stars

I was originally wanting 15x3.5s for the front of my 97 WS6, but came across a set of 15x6s with a 3.5 inch backspace and 165 tires. By the pics, they still look skinny enough compared to my 15x10 rears, but the owner that has them for sale had never mounted them on his ride. I do like the idea of the 15x6 wheel being stronger for street use than the 15x3.5s. Anyone run this combo and how was the fit? I just don't want these to give me the ricer type skateboard look with the wheels pushed out past the fender lip.

thanks...

I'm pretty sure it'd look fine, but as for the tire...thats a bit small for that rim. I had 165's on my 15x3.5" draglite and it looked right on it...might want to consider a wider tire for a 6" wide rim if your thinking street use.

Seeing this post here reminded me I never answered your PM regarding this wheel. The 3.5" backspace will produce a 3.5" frontspace. That means, assuming you use the 5/16" spacer, your wheel/tire will stick out at least 3/4" further than my 15x3.5's (2.75" frontspace). I think mine are already too close to the edge of the fender. I would like to be able to run them without the spacer.

Look at the pics and decide if you want it 3/4" further toward the outside:

No problem Fred, I figured it was that time a year and you were busy. Personally, I like yours. If they are going to stick out more than that, it's a no-go. Shame we can't tuck them in just a little more. I suppose we could if the front brakes were removed.

Thanks!

The Bogarts the SJM Engineering sells really have the edge in fitting these cars "better", but they're not a good "street" wheel.
