A few Center cap and Lug nut questions.
A few Center cap and Lug nut questions.
I just recieved my 18x9.5" and 18x10.5" polished Z06 rims and i have a few questions.
1. Are these chrome painted plastic or are they metal. And does anybody know where i can get some polished aluminum ones to match my wheels.

2. Will these work instead of grinding down the jouce bumper.

3. I would like some locking lug nuts and ive got some summit bucks so hopefully something from there. Ive heard Gorilla is what most people go with but i have no idea what kind to get. Does anybody know what thread size, length, and whatnot to get.

Re: A few Center cap and Lug nut questions.
1. One soluton would be to have Brent Franker make you some vinyl overlays in a finish/color that matches your wheels.
2. I assume you are asking about the need to cut the projecting edge off the jounce bumper brackets. All the spacer would do is move the problem down by the thickness of the spacer. The inside edge of the wheel would still "catch" on the projecting jounce bumper bracket when you jacked the car and the axle went to full drop. If you are talking about something other than this interference, you might want to clarify what you are trying to accomplish.
3. You need 12mm-1.5 conical lug nuts.

Re: A few Center cap and Lug nut questions.
1. I got some plastic center covers with the corvette logo on my wheels and i was just wondering if anyone made a metal one.
2. So no matter if i get that i will still have to cut/grind down the joucer bumper.
3. Thats what i needed to know.
Thanks.

Re: A few Center cap and Lug nut questions.
An "open end" lug nut has an open end. You can look in the hole on the end of the nut, and see the end of the stud. A "closed end" nut does not have the hole in the end, so you can't see the stud. If your lug nuts are visible, most people opt for a closed end chrome or black lug nut. If your lug nuts are under a cover, you can use open ended. Or, if you have excessively long studs for drag wheels, you might need the open end lug nuts so the longer studs can stick out the end of them.
