Factory c5 rims fitment issues

I've got 18x9.5s in the back and 17s in the front. When I drive the car and get on the gas or brake heavily or go around a corner it makes a slight metallic grinding noise.. Could it be that the wheel is not on all the way and that the center bearings need to be grinded? How would I do that? Do I need spacers?

sounds like you are hitting your bump stops...it happens when you go around a corner hard?....mine did that....i put an aftermarket panhard bar in there.....and some spacers and it fixed the problem.....not sure if you need the spacers or not ....i had them so i kept them on after the suspension upgrade.....anyone else chime in on that?

I just hammered it in and it only rubbs when i slide the car sideways hehe.

The rims are polished aluminum and the clearcoat is coming off of them. what can I do to remove the clearcoat and make em shine like theyre new again?

Now the big question do I have chrome rims or polished aluminum? I really cant tell. Theyre from the factory GM wheels, so were these chrome or alum?
