Et Streets on Salad Shooters
Et Streets on Salad Shooters
I was wondering if this would be an ok setup. 295/50/16's Miickey Thompson ET streets on stock salad shooters (16x8)
I was loking at the page on Summit Racing and saw that it was within the recommend wheel width. A few friends seemed to think that it was not a good idea, what do you guys think?

I don't care about how wide they are, I just want the tires to hook like a bat out of hell. I guess I will keep searching for something else.
Exactly, to big of a tire on a 8" rim, will not have the right footprint. I wouldn't go with a tire more than a 1/2 inch wider than the wheel. And by the way, Summit and other catalogs, always have mistakes in them, when recommending tire size to wheel size, let alone other mistakes.
The M/T website shows the acceptable wheel width as 8.0-10.0", but then they contradict this by saying "Acceptable practice for rim width is tread width plus or minus 1''. Using that guideline, a tire like this with a 10.8" tread width requires a 9.0 - 10.5" wide wheel.
