Drag Radial Questions

I thinking about purchasing a set of 315/35/17 Nitto 555r's. My concern is my rearend. But I thinking that I could control the amount of traction I got by adjusting the amount of air pressure in the tire, and since I dont have much side wall that will also help.

I only want to cut 1.8-1.9 60fts. (AND THATS IT). My Mods are in sig. But for your convience I have a hotcam, 1.6 rr, bolt-on, A4 with stock gears.

So im i correct in what im thinking and do you think the Nittos will obtain my goal, or do you think theyll give me WAY more traction than that, thus causing me to break something?

Thanks for your help,
pride

Re: Drag Radial Questions

A4 with which stock gears? 2.73 or 3.23?

Anyway, it doesn't really matter... Automatics don't load the rear end up with an incredible amount of shock on the launch like manuals do. You'll be fine. If you had a 4000 stall, or a transbrake... then maybe you can start worrying again.

I've run DRs plenty of times on my 10 bolt, with a crazy, hard-shifting race built automatic and 3.73s out back.
