cragar SS series 61

I was wondering if anyone had put these on a 4th gen. Here's my current wheel - http://img373.imageshack.us/img373/1052/wheel3qc.jpg. Stock wheels were 16in right? I was also wondering if 15" would look much different than a 16.

Re: cragar SS series 61

Are you asking if you can put a 15" Cragar SS on a 4th Gen? Which 4th Gen? The differences in the LT1 asnd LS1 brakes can affect wheel fitment. So will drum rear brakes in the back on the V6's.

Probably not without some work. Many 15" wheels hit the rear brake caliper fins, requiring grinding, or the front calipers, pad mounting spring or caliper support bar, requiring spacers. Depends on the design of the rear of the wheel.

You also need to address the issue or "offset" or backspace. The 4th Gen has an offset similar to a front wheel drive car, resulting in very large backspace. Stock wheels are 16x8" 55mm offset (unless you have an SS or WS6 - 17x9" 50mm). Acceptable offset for aftermarket wheels will vary with width. What width wheels are you looking at?

15's will give you a definite "race" look, with the large tire sidewalls. I run 15's for the track, and there's no mistaking the car's purpose.

Might want to add a "signature" with the basic info about yuor car - year, engine, tranny, any major mods. Makes it easier for peole to give you the correct answer to your questions.
