corvette rims on a 3rd Gen
corvette rims on a 3rd Gen
I was looking at purchasing some vette rims for my 3rd gen camaro, the rear is a 4th gen rear and the front is orig., if i purchase the rims will there be a problem with tire clearance at all?? because I notice that the offsets on the wheels are different. The vette rim sizes I was looking at are 17 x 9.5 / 54mm / 5, 4.75. I was looking into it and noticed that a lot of places sell 2in. spacers which leads me to think that there are clearence issues with the tires but it makes the wheels still out much further. Are there any other solutions to get these to fit (if they dont) besides the spacers??
Thanks for the help.
Thanks for the help.
Corvette wheels have that huge offset, which produces a huge backspace. Even on a 4th Gen, with a rear axle assembly 3" wider that the 3rd Gen, the Corvette wheels may be too deep in the wheel wells.
The 9.5" width, with a 54mm offset, would be perfect on a 4th Gen, but not on a 3rd Gen. You will need a 1.5" to 2.0" adapter to push them back out toward the outside of the fenders. This outfit specializes in making high quality adapters to fit the Corvette wheels to the 3rd Gens:

We have a "Wheels and Tires" forum.... I'll move the post there.
