chrome vs. polished

Is there a huge difference between the two? I can't remember ever having seens polished wheels up close before. Which looks better?

Re: chrome vs. polished

chrome has more shine, where as polished kinda has a dull look to it. polished is a lot more to maintain, but looks good when super clean

Re: chrome vs. polished

Polished are an absolute nightmare to keep clean. They tarnish easily and have to be polished every so often. However, they look good without being TOO "blingy".

Chrome is more mirror-like and required less maintenance.

Re: chrome vs. polished

I have polished ZR1 replicas, with clearcoat.... shine is excellent and there is no more maintenance than a painted wheel. Even my Pro-Stars, which are not clear coated get a good polish about twice a year, although they don't see anything much in the way of bad weather.

Re: chrome vs. polished

The spokes on TT2's are polished. I hit mine once a year with a buffing wheel / rouge bar.
