Cheap drag wheels?
Cheap drag wheels?
I was looking through Jeg's and you can get some 15 x 10 Cragers cheap ($40-70) and was wondering if any of those would fit the back of a fourth gen? I was looking at series 441, 397,398, 315, and 310. Thanks in advance for the help!
Re: Cheap drag wheels?
You need a wheel with the correct backspace.... for a 15x8" wheel you need a 5.5 to 6.5" backspace. For a 15x10" wheel you need a 7.5" BS. Do the Cragar's come with that backspace?
The Centerline Telstar seems to be the "cheap drag wheel" of choice. I understand they just came out with the 5.5" BS for the 15x8. The Telstar also offers the advantage of not requiring grinding of the brake calipers.
This will probably be moved to the "Wheels and Tires" forum.

Re: Cheap drag wheels?
Fred - do you know if the new backspacing is available for all 3 wheels in the Terminator series? Telstar, Indy, and Auto Drag 3
Also, any idea what the correct backspacing is for LS1 rear brakes?

Re: Cheap drag wheels?
I recall early limits of 5.0" BS on the 15x8 Telstars (in the days of the GMH-TP magazine writeup).... then someone posted they had started making 5.5's..... that's all I've heard. Don't know about the other lines.
