Hey guys, got a question and not sure if anyone happens to know the answer.

Recently purchased a '96 SS which has the 9.5" wide x 17" ZR1 rims. I know that on the Vettes they used like an 13" wide rim in the back and an 11" up front.

Now I have heard that you can't get the 11" wide rims to fit on the back end of the Camaro because of the offset.

I am going to be putting a 9" rear-end in the car this winter with custom axles and was wondering if it was possible since the axles are custom to have them built longer (or shorter) to accomodate the offset for the 11" wide vette rim?

Anybody ever done this or know if it would work?

A lot of guys are running 17 X 11's on the back of 4th Gens. Fred has a good write-up here:

Re: Calling the Experts!
Problem is you posted on the wrong forum.... use the "Wheels and Tires" forum for posts like this. While there.... look at the FAQ stickied at the top of the forum listing. It has all the info you need.

I've never heard of a Corvette running a factory 13" wheel. The C6 Z06 has 10's in the front and 12's in the back. That's the largest they've ever used. The Corvette ZR1 wheels are 17x9.5 front and 17x11.0 rear. The stock SS wheels are 17x9.0"

Re: Calling the Experts!
If a 17x11 fits on the rear a 4th Gen F-Body, an 18x11 will fit. It requires a 50mm offest. See the FAQ for info on fitting 11" wheels to a 4th Gen.
