I just picked up a set of chrome C6 wheels for the SS. The rears are a 19x10 and the fronts are 18x8.5 and I wanted to know what you guys think of these tire sizes. I was thinking a 285/30/19 in the back and a 265/35/18 up front. Is this a safe combo for these wheels?

Im asking because I tried to squeeze a 275/35/18 on an 8.5" wheel that I have now, and its giving me all kinds of problems.

 

The 285/30-19 is OK for the 19x10" back wheels.

In the front, a 265/35-18 needs a 9.0" wide wheel, and is going to be smaller in outside diameter than the stock tire and the 285/30-19. Its going to result in a very narrow sidewall, that is forced on a wheel that is narrower than its supposed to be used on (check the specific tire brand and model you are looking at.... each tire has specific recommendations for rim width, and they are not all the same). You would need a 245/40-18 to match the stock tire diameter, or a 255/40-18 to match the 285/30-19 diameter.
