UHP and all season has always seemed like an oxymoron. I mean, the 960s may have some great performance for being an AS tire, but wont be UHP like a 'summer' tire would be. Ive heard customers refer to them as close to the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S' though, which is a good thing

I realize i might be giving up some handling compared to a summer only tire(the gsc,s)but the GOODYEARS didn,t last that long and the few times in light snow they were absolutely worthless, esp. important when returning from a U.S trip in nov/dec back to CANADA.Any other replies,or opinions on this tire appreciated.

Bwhahahah you drove with GSCs in the snow

I had GSCs on my car and well if the roads were just a tad bit damp the car went sideways

So yeah I would bet compared to GSCs the RE 960s will be a 100000X better. But as stated the 960s will not hook in the dry as well as GSCs.

I have them on our Subaru sedan (Replacing Eagle RSAs (the GSC All-Season)), and they do handle pretty well, much better than the RSAs. Haven't had them in snow, but in rain they do quite a bit better than RSAs.

I am considering these tires for my car was well. It is between these and the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S. Last winter I drove in about 7" of snow with the Fuzion ZR's. I was doing pretty good until that hill got in my way. I just pulled it over and called a friend with a roll back.

Last fall (second week OCT) I went on a short holiday and when i left it was nice out but the next morning sure as s*** there was snow on the ground and i was a prisoner at my cottage and finally 3-4 days later i was able to leave and the dry traction doesn,t have to be as good as the GSC,S as my MT ET STREET RADIALS are mounted on extra salad shooters and can be installed quickly when i really want to have fun (he he)and the car goes into storage always in OCT.
