Boyd Coddington Wheels - Tell me your experiences

Well, I am about to place my order for my Boyd wheels. I am getting the hotrods 17 x 9.5 rear and 17 x 8 front. I just wanted to put up a quick post and ask people of the experience with Boyds. The wheels are custom so no returns allowed. Once I order them, they are mine.

Please share your experiences.

Thanks

Nick

HAVEN'T heard anything bad about them. I just got some boyd smoothie 2's a few weeks back and they look awesome. The quality and finish looks great. Just have to keep them polished.
i don't think you will regret the move.

Got some smoothie II's from them for my tbird, no regrets...love the wheels. Almost a 5" lip on the rear. Quality and appearance was top notch. Just need to take care of them. Here is a quick shot of how they look.

Not one of my favorite wheels, but they look damn good on your car.

I was going to go with the JYD's initially, but because of the shape or something, I couldn't get the lip as deep as I did with the smoothie II's.

I had a set of the "Shikes" on the 3rd gen (see sig). My only complaint was not from the wheel itself, but from the centercap. Try to avoid getting the centercap that has the white oval Boyd logo sticker in the middle. Mine kept fading. The good thing was that I called the place I got them from and had them replaced under warranty. So, if you have a choice, try not to get those.

Thanks for the heads up. I am pretty sure that all of their wheels do not have that white centercap anymore. I know mine don't.

I have the Timeless 5 17-9.5 all the way around. I like them but you have to polish them a lot. I take my wheels off and polish the insides 2 to 3 times a month in the summer.

Wow.... Is that because you are **** like me or it really takes that much to upkeep them?
