Re: biggest slick for a 4th gen
I ran a Hoosier QTP 28x11.5-15 with limited problems. The wheel wells had already been hammered for 315's, so keep that in mind. When trap speeds went over 125MPH, the tires grew enough that I had contact at the front edge of the wheel opening, and had to move the axle assembly back about 1/4" to get rid of the problem. Did not have to cut the bumper cover.
On the other hand, I put a pair of M/T ET Drag 28x10.5-15W's on it, and they wouldn't even fit in the wheel opening without cutting back the rear bumper. Before I got done, I hade take at least 1.5" off the bottom of the bumper cover, and hammered the sheet metal that's behing the bumper cover.
And also keep in mind each car can be different. I know another guy who posts had the same wheels and QTP's and actually had to cut away the stamped portion of the inner fender liner that is raised to mount the jounce bumper bracket.
