Better for Launching.... 17x11 or 9.5?

What's going to be my best bet for my drag setup? Right now I have a set of 17x9.5/11" ZR1's on my SS. 275/40/17 Sumitomo HTRZ up front and 315/35/17 NT555R's out back. I'm going to be purchasing 2 more 9.5's and tires all the way around soon. I was curious what everyone suggusted. Should I run a set of 275/40/17 streets then put the 11's on for the strip? Or should I run 275/315 streets and put a set of like ET Streets on my spare 9.5's

Any tire suggustions are appreciated. Right now I'm considering a matching set of 315-35-17 NT555R's out back and 275-40-17 NT555's for my street tires.

Go with the smaller wheels and some MT street radials. Use the highest sidewall tire that will fit if your worried about traction at the track.

I would say that the tire that has the higher sidewall height would get you better 60' times than the tire that has the larger width, with similar tire compositions.

555R's out back and 555RII's up front, that way the tire tread will be identical.

The sidewall height on the 275/40 and the 375/35 are the same.

get some draglights and 11.5" ET Streets (15" wheels) and call it a day.

A set of slicks on a 9.5" wheel is going to hook better than a 315 DR on an 11" wheel any day... I'd be willing to bet that a set of M/T ET's on a pair of salad shooters would hook better than 315 DR's.
